Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Hey y'all!
Been a while, as I seem to say every time I make one of these.
I meant to type this up a few days ago and work on one long blog post over the course of a few days. Time slipped through my hands, so here we are. I'm writing this on the anniversary of Ngash, August 23rd.
Hard to believe it's been 3 years already. We started in 2023 with the launch of this website and the initial release of my online book issues. Those stories unfolded over the course of 6 months until the first two books of Origins, Foundations, and Demise were all complete. Then in 2024 I released both Foundations and Origins, officially making me an author. 2025 saw me return back to the states from my years in Japan, and that year I took a break from writing and book releases. That was all supposed to change in 2026.
So, what have I accomplished this year? More than previously projected, and in brand new avenues, but less than I originally planned. See, in 2023 when World of Ngash first launched, I planned to release around 2-3 books for the "trifecta" (Origins, Foundations, Demise) then while content was still releasing also start on publishing that same content into books. I was open to being flexible, perhaps keeping those stories always online but releasing other content in book form, but those plans changed.
I also hoped to release 3 books every year for the foreseeable future, until I reached a point I felt comfortable finally submitting my work to traditional publishers. I had originally planned for 2027 to be that goal. At such time I would have had around 8-10 books out, and stories beyond just the original trifecta.
Plans changed though. Drastically changed. Now in 2026, I have two books out and Origins II waiting for release. Waiting for the finances to come together. The books is complete, it just needs cover art and some legal documents submitted, but that all costs money. So I pivoted.
So for the 3rd anniversary of World of Ngash, I have other exciting news to reveal!

A brand new game set in the World of Ngash universe, featuring exciting gameplay similar to titles like Persona and Skyrim.
To summarize the gameplay, HABILITATION is an RPG dungeon crawler, with dating-sim mechanics. Essentially, you will play the role of a teacher/counselor, thrown into a realm lost between Ngash and Earth, your goal will be to venture out into the Otherside of this realm in serach of students, rare items and weapons, and adventure.
This may sound a bit confusing here, but once the game releases, the gameplay will make far better sense.
Just like any other story in Ngash, the core themes and focus of HABILITATION are it's characters, so let me introduce a few of them here!

Vienne
One of the most important character in this new story! Vienne will often take center stage, but the story is not always about her alone. She's a girl from earth, tossed into this strange new realm, her story is integral to the ongoing plot and while different chapters in HABILITATION will shine more light on her background, her story will take most of the game to complete. She is an archer, who wields a gun rather than a bow and arrow, through the course of the game, you'll have options to change out her gun for bigger and more powerful options, each one featuring thrilling new designs.

Milia
Our main heroine, and potential "face" of the game. Her story, like Vienne's, is directly tied to the plot of the game so as the story progresses so too will your understanding of this strange girl and her backstory. When we first meet her, she's already been in this void realm for some time, but how long? Her story doesn't seem to be straight. Milia is a healer, with some offensive magic at her disposal. She's playful and mischevious, and a bit too flirty. All of it seems to be an act, hiding something deeper.

Conductor
Known only as the Conductor, she'll ask you early on to give her a name. She's a mysterious girl with little emotional range. It's hard to tell much more about her than that, but she seems willing to help you and the school however you need. Though she rarely leaves her corner of the void realm, she does offer you a chance to access new abilities and areas that would be sealed off to you otherwise. (From the meta perspective, she's most similar to the attendants from the Persona series.)

Leah and Maia
Your sister and childhood friend. You've known them both for almost all your life. They're roles in the story still remain a mystery, but clearly they're up to something back on Earth. After you're lost inside the void realm, they set out to search for you, unknowing of the fate that awaits them if they do manage to find you!

Kaida
The last of the announced heroines for today, Kaida is a dragon. She appears as a girl when she enters the void realm, but how she arrives there will remain a mystery for now. Kaida is an uncoming character that will not be present in the first released chapter of HABILITATION, instead she's someone to look forward to meeting!

HABILITATION should be releasing sometime late this year. You know how these releases can be, often this level of work takes far more time and attention than I originally project, but you can expect to recieve both HABILITATION's prologue (opening) and the first story chapter.
From there, HABILITATION will release in chapters slowly expanding to story to introduce more characters to recruit, more dungeons and locations to explore, and more quality time events to experience with each of the girls. While this game is a dating-sim at heart, it features some major twists on the formula, offering more substantial gameplay mechanics than simply date which girl you prefer and reach a happily ever after. I'm certain HABILITATION is already well on it's way to become a massive epic fantasy, with interesting characters, fun gameplay mechanics, and an ever expanding list of activities to engage in.
Stay tuned for more character reveals as we get closer to HABILITATION's release. I'll also start sharing some progress updates here as well, and I'll reveal release date plans as we get closer as well. But as a sneak peek into timeline, the prologue is already complete, only in need of some UI changes and standardization. Chapter 1, which will ship with the initial release, has it's foundation in place and I've already finalized the dungeon for this chapter. I have finished storyboarding this chapter and just need to write it all out officially and make sure the game actually runs it all without issue. (This could take a few weeks without distractions, or a few months if I give myself the needed grace.)
I wont set an official release date yet, but I have a timeframe in mind. Remember, this first release will not be the complete game, but it will be free!
Stay tuned for more information, and happy anniversary!
