Hey y'all!
It's been a while, like six months or so. (I know next to nobody reads these right now, I just like talking as if someone does! It helps me get my thoughts out better, and more concisely.)
A few updates, as once again it's been a little while:
Origins II
It was set to release at the end of April. The didn't happen. See those plans got pushed back with the editing process. I changed editors (loved the new one!) and had more work on my hands editing this time than ever before. But, good news, I only have the epilogue left to finish, but it's been like that for about two months now. Origins II just needs that little bit of editing finished, formatted into publish ready specs, and commissioned a cover art. That's the real hold up here, the cover art. It's going to cost me quite a bit to have it done ($400-600) so I want to wait until I can actually afford it without going into debt.
What Else I'm Working On
I hated capitalizing all those words, but I like that as the title. Technically the only word that can be lowercased is "on", but that would look weird. (Enough rambling!) Since I can't afford the final steps of Origins II's publishing process, I had to look elsewhere for now. I came upon a perfect solution! A video game!
Obviously this is a big undertaking, one that I'm not really prepared for, but I started this process a few week ago and things are going good so far! I'm trying to build a RPG Rogue-like Dating Sim. That's three genre's in one! Essentially, the game will play like a rogue-like Persona (more so than that game even is) and it will feature a good bunch of new faces to fall in love with. This undertaking will take me a LONG time. So, I plan to release the first chapter in a few weeks, fingers crossed. But it does have some major benefits!
Some of the benefits include, a new storyline and characters, new lore or expanded lore, an additional look into Ngash from a brand new perspective, and angle. But also in the real world, this project helps me learn some coding basics, an essential skill in the world ahead, and it is potentially an income source. I'll be officially starting a Patreon then, and I'll make sure to have links to that here on the site.
This game will be my focus for a little bit...which means Origins II has to wait. I'm hoping not all year, but we'll have to see. I'm hoping that the game can make enough to cover the final steps of publishing over a few months time, but that may be wishful thinking. It's goopd to note as well, making money out of this is a benefit not the sole reasoning. I'm pouring my heart and soul into this project and it shopuld hopefully show. The game has already gone through a few different iterations to work towards being the best final product.
As a final reveal, the game is going to be called HABILITATION. The storyline follows an ex-teacher who's forced back into the role to help a suffering school, the major issues: the school is lost in an in-between void realm, that means everyone who enters is trapped there too, oh and, the school has no other staff and few remaining students. Helping build this school/university is your main goal of the game, but that goal will take some time to build up, along the way you'll experience brand new events and sprawling dungeons throughout icon locations in Ngash.
Keep an eye out on Itch.io for the free game release, or my patreon linked here on the site. The game will be free for anyone to download on their PC, and shouldn't need a beefy gaming PC to play. I'll share more insights into the process later, likely on the Patreon itself.
Oh, and don't worry about Origins II, it'll publish eventually...
Have a great summer!
