Hey y'all!
Like the title says I'm back. It's currently Sunday and I'm trying to take it easy still, but I'm hoping to dedicate some thought to my original writing now, so I should be in the swing of things soon enough.
I originally had another version of this blog all drafted outlining some of the things I learned from my time off, but I decided to scrap that idea for something shorter and simpler.
Going forward I'm going to try to take some time off pretty regularly. I don't know what that looks like now, but I'll see as time goes on. I'm sure I'll put too much on myself again at some point and need to take some forced time off again. Not sure when that will happen though.
I think this time off has been extremely beneficial, and opened my eyes to different sorts of inpiriation I wasn't getting anymore. But I have to be careful to find a balance.
Additionally, I may be a bit more flexible with my publishing dates going forward. I'd like to keep my planned April release, and probably a release in August as well. That's my anniversary month for World of Ngash, and should have Foundations II releasing then too, one whole year after the first book was released.
This flexible release schedule could work in both directions, quicker publishing times, assuming I have the money, as well as some later publishing dates. I won't make any promises on what will be more common, as that will cement me into a schedule as well.
I'm at a key time in this journey where I set the standards for msyelf going forward. I don't want to kill myself over release dates, but I also want consistency. I'm sure I'll manage to find a compromise between.
I hope this serves as a good update on my thoughts going forward.
Have a happy February, I'm sure I'll see you all soon enough!
Here's the first piece of Foundations concept art. (Still AI) I like the wet, depressing look, mixed with brick and steampunk. This is what I've always pitcured the Harbor District in Rine to look like, so it's a great representation. (Even better than the cover of Foundations...)
This in particular is the Rinian government's storage facility as seen in chapter one. Also where Ai meets Leo for the first time. This is a core location in Foundations.
