Hey, y'all!

It's been a little while, and it might be a little while more.

I have made the decision to push back my release dates. I was in a conversation a few months ago where the other person reminded me that I was still in the early stages of my work. This is good and bad, it all depends on perspective.

I had been so concerned with getting published and having my work out there, I was applying all these dates and restrictions on myself that were eventually going to take their toll.

If I had stayed in Japan, I'm sure my due dates would have stayed the same. And that's okay! I'm sure the toll would have come eventually either way though.

But, after moving back home, my eyes opened to the change coming and the weight finally hit me. It helps I was suddenly in a new environment, at least for this stage of life. So, I slowed down considerably, like getting no work done for weeks slow.

This isn't a bad thing, I don't think.

I'm going to take a few steps back and let myself settle into my life here as well as regain my desire for writing. I already feel it returning, but it's a bit different. I don't want to push forward and burn myself out immedietly, that won't help.

As such, I'm going to get work done over time, but I don't know when Origins II will release, even though it's so close to publishing ready! As such, Foundations II will also get pushed back and then Demise too. I'm thinking I'll focus on getting two books out this years instead of three. Maybe I'll get three out next year, but I'll have to take things in strides.

I want to make my books a full time job, but in the meantime I need money coming in the door. Who knows if any of this will take off, or if it does take off will I even wish to solely focus all my time on it. Thus whatever job I take now I want to enjoy just as much and see a potential career out of it.

I know I write these blogs like tons of people read them, but that's not the case. I'm going to work on my perspective as well. I want to write the same way going forward, but not confuse myself, or lie about the reality of the situation. With that, my tone might not change in these blogs, but expect them to slow down.

I'm going to return to my roots for a little while to focus on building lore and shaping the world. That's what I'm interested in right now anyway.

As a reminder, here's the current progress of Origins II, I'll put it in numbers this time.

Planning: 98% (With room for error.)

Writing: 90% (Only the final chapter and epilogue left.)

Editing: 55% (Left off just before the Act II crises. Lots of short chapters between that and the final battle.)

Publishing: 10% (Some percentage to account for pre-planned steps. (Ex. ISBN's prepurchased.) I cannot engage in most publishing steps until the book is complete, or I'll have shoddy work, like Origins pixelated cover.)

Total: 63.25%

**These are all arbitrary numbers, not official calculations.

I expect to get some basic work done in the next few weeks, but I may go extremely slow. I'm building other plot lines and stories in my head, as well as shaping out lore. (It's mostly stories I already had planned, that I'm inspired to flesh out. Some of them you'll see early on in the overarching story, others you'll have to wait a while on to see.)

As a final thought, I'd like to discuss an idea that's come to mind. I've been toying with the thought of writing some short stories for side characters and posting them on here as another blog. In addition to this, I may just do basic lore dumps, mostly to talk out ideas without making anything too official. (I want Ngash to have some surprises, so I'll leave big lore ideas secret, but basic history or storylines that may recieve less focus or explaination would make great content ideas.)

Have a great day!
