Hey y'all,
Hard to believe it's already August! That means World of Ngash's anniversary is only a couple weeks away! (13 days to be exact.)
Now with August here, I promised to offer a birthday celebration. I still plan to do something, but it'll probably be a lot smaller than I originally hoped. (Bigger than I thought previously too though.) I found another way to go through with my anniversary content as well, it'll just be of a different quality.
This is all assuming I remember the anniversary week of...I have a bust set of weeks ahead.
But I wanted to offer some good news today. I actually managed to sit down and get some work done. (It was just a bit of editing, and on a second of Origins II I'll probably end up ending again anyway. But still!) I also know what direction I want to take the final battle that I've been hung up on for so long. (It makes too much sense for how to take the scene. It's not even the most important battle of the story though, which I've already finished and just down double checked to bring msyelf up to speed. All this will make more sense once the book is actually out.)
Another area to discuss, I'm getting into DnD again. I've played once more, and of course dabbled in BG3. (Balders Gate 3) I may have even DM'ed something before, but I can't remember the details. Maybe it's just a lie I've told other people enough that now I believe it. But I know I've done little one-person campaign/stories with a pair of dice and my own imagination. (That's probably what I'm thinking of then, seeing as I would remember DM'ing a campaign, even if it was only one night.)
Anyway, I'm trying to get a mini campaign going on with some friends when I'm officially DM'ing. I know it'll have some challenges and it's not recommended to homebrew on first DnD experience, but I don't think I'm venturing too far from the set rules. (It's all work out. Famous last words.) We don't know if this is even going to happen though, I guess that's really all up to me as the DM to be.
Anyway, how can I write fantasy and not hope to play a DnD campaign in my own world. Even playing as the DM would be fun! It could even help with some lore building. I may even write out some of the play sessions and put it on here as content. (But that's turning a fun game of DnD into a bit of a chore. Maybe we'll play through a bit and I'll journal it all and upload some of the details here at least. Or we could do some session recordings down the line when the players feel more comfortable.) Oh yeah, for the most part, none of the players have even played before. Should be fun! (lol, more like tricky.) But It'll all work out, right?
Anyway, all of this is built on hopes and wishes. Everything could fall apart tomorrow for all I know. I'll keep trusting God and pushing ahead anyway. I'm just happy to find some rekindled interest and inspiration to start going again!
Have a great week ahead everyone!
